You’re telling me that some married couples make less than $100,000? I don’t understand!

UAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I had a difficult time understanding why they couldn’t understand how two people could make less than $100,000. @______@

Thanks for insulting me OP. Thanks. Y’know it ain’t fucking hard for someone’s parents to earn less than $95k

That shit ain’t poverty Bro. To give you an idea of social stratification in the United States, here is an example from my Intro-Anthro book:

(based on 2003 stats I believe - goes by annual income)

Privileged Classes

  • Capitalist - $1 million + (1% population)
  • Upper Middle - $ 100,000+ (14% population)

Majority Classes

  • Middle - $55,000 (30%)
  • Working Class - $35,000 (30%)

Lower Classes

  • Working Poor - $22,000 (13%)
  • Underclass - $10,000 or less

I’m not entirely sure of my parents income but I know for a fact it’s less than $95,000 annually or else I wouldn’t have been able to receive the scholarships I’ve received. My mom works two jobs and my dad works two jobs…and we still don’t earn that much annually.

christ guys. keep your privilege in check.
